Power

 To My Daughters

In this world,

Power comes in many forms

And in many ways

Specially for women today

There is a loud power

That rings in one's ears 

         But often could be hollow

         Veiling insecurity 

         There is a soft power

         That comes from work 

         And seeks approval

         Of others around 

         There is a sly power

         That comes from 

         Manipulations and criticism 

          To bring up the stature

          Bringing others down

          Then there is a kind power

          That comes from selfless

          Love, care, compassion 

          And confidence

          Be whatever you want to be

          With kind power

          And recognition will seek you out

          Always!
